What We Believe

The Holy Bible was written by men under divine inspiration and stands as God’s revelation of Himself to humanity. It is a perfect treasury of divine instruction, having God as its author, salvation as its purpose, and truth—without any mixture of error—as its content. Therefore, all Scripture is completely true and entirely trustworthy.

It reveals the principles by which God judges humanity and remains, until the end of time, the true center of Christian unity. It is the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and religious beliefs must be measured. All Scripture testifies to Christ, who is Himself the essence and fulfillment of divine revelation.

There is one—and only one—living and true God. He is an intelligent, spiritual, and personal Being: the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe. God is infinite in holiness and perfect in every way. He is all-powerful and all-knowing, and His perfect wisdom extends to all things—past, present, and future—including the future choices of His free creatures. Because of who He is, we owe Him our highest love, reverence, and obedience.

We believe that the one true God exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

God the Father rules over His universe with loving and purposeful care. He watches over His creation and guides the course of human history according to the gracious plans of His heart. He is all-powerful, all-knowing, all-loving, and perfectly wise in everything He does.

We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, and demonstrated the power of God through His miracles. He willingly gave His life on the cross, shedding His blood to atone for our sins. He rose bodily from the grave, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will one day return personally in power and glory.

The Holy Spirit is fully God. He inspired the writers of Scripture and opens our hearts and minds to understand God’s truth. He lifts up Christ, convicts us of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and draws people to the Savior. He brings new life, and at the moment of salvation He places every believer into the Body of Christ.

The Holy Spirit shapes our character to be more like Jesus, comforts us in our weakness, and gives spiritual gifts so we can serve God through His Church. He seals every believer until the day of final redemption, guaranteeing that God will complete the good work He began in us. He strengthens and empowers both believers and the Church in worship, evangelism, and faithful service.
